Things I saw this morning that made me smile …

1. A Dalmatian tethered outside our local supermarket, adding a bit of class to the surroundings.
2. A beagle being taken on his walk by a man wearing a very smart pink shirt and and tie.
3. A man lying on the beach, basking in the sun, in full length trousers and jersey.
4. Two elderly couples on opposite sides of the street, out walking, enjoying the sunny day. One of the couples stopped to sit on a shady bank, shaking out a towel and placing it on the ledge where they would sit to protect their clothing. The other couple, now so thin and frail, held each other up on their walk.
5. An old cabbage tree in the supermarket carpark, its dozens of green heads brilliant against the crystal clear blue sky.
6. A lonely white glove, twisting and turning in the wind from the passing Firth concrete truck.
