A man’s car was stolen the other night. He parked it in an underground but public car park, and a few minutes later as he was walking along the harbour, he looked up to see a thief driving his car away. At this stage of reading, I had considerable sympathy for him. Apparently, there is a gang of thieves operating in the city, targeting a specific type of car. His car, he said, cost $25k, with $25 k extras. So that is what the gang was after.
Then I read on. Apparently, this was his third vehicle (all of them “souped up”) that has been stolen. He was quoted as saying that he was“seriously thinking about not getting another one.”
