Well, I finally had my Gelato Day 2013 on Tuesday. The temperature has dipped slightly in the last week or so, and I thought I’d better take advantage of a good day in case it was the last one of the summer. Well, since then, every day has been better, and the forecast for Easter weekend is for sun, sun, sun. Maybe more, unofficial, gelato is still on the cards for this summer?
Today, I ventured to the other side of the harbour, for a business meeting with a friend, I put it to As I drove home, I reflected on the beauty of this harbour, this city (and its surrounds) where I live, work and play.
And yes, these photos indicate that I have finally entered the 21st century, cast off my seven-year-old (yes, you heard me) Motorola and succumbed to the need for a smartphone. And I love it. I’m not using too much data, because I don’t need to yet. But I love that it connects to wi-fi easily, that it has a hand-writing option because my fingers are too large for the tiny, on-screen keypad, that it has a calendar, and that it has a decent camera. (Hence the photos on this post). I haven’t explored too many other apps yet, or been brave enough to sync my email with my laptop (other than gmail/yahoo). Instagram remains a mystery. But I have a Kindle app and solitaire. What else do I need?
Daylight saving ends in just over a week. So tonight is my penultimate pasta and chardonnay night. (My husband stops Thursday night golf when daylight saving ends, and isn’t a big pasta or chardonnay fan). Sigh! It is hard to imagine the long winter nights starting again, especially now as I have the large window above me wide open letting the warm breeze drifting through the house. Long may summer continue!
