We always thought we’d take a cruise one day, when we’re old. Well, as my previous posts have confirmed, we’re getting there. This is however quite a bit earlier than we intended, but when we started investigating the logistics of visiting the Greek Islands, I sighed at the thought of all the ferries, lugging my suitcase (I am incapable of packing light) on and off piers, into small hotels, moving on every day or two. On impulse I googled “Greek Islands cruise” and found one that sounded perfect. A small ship, with a focus on the individual rather than large groups, rooms with a view, and best of all, the perfect itinerary. I’ve always wanted to visit Santorini and Dubrovnik. And where else do you want to disembark from your cruise but Venice? What better excuse to spend a couple more days in this most beautiful of cities? See you there in a week.

- I like the idea of counting each day as a separate life. Starting anew, celebrating what we have, rather than what we don't. Remembering days that have shaped me, made me who I am. Or just today.

Dubrovnik’s lovely. Make sure you go to one of the Buza pubs, which are a little hard to find but are both through holes in the city walls. Take your swimming gear!

Dubrovnik is beautiful but Santorini – it’s what I imagine heaven to look like.
