There’s no cruise ship in port today. There was on Saturday, when the clouds were low and it rained most of the day, and we were all feeling miserable. Murphy’s Law.
The view today from the tugboat cafe where I had a quick lunch with a friend shows that Wellingtonians are well and truly ready for summer to arrive. (I’m sure that water is freezing.) But that’s the question. Is it really here, or will it go away again? We’ve had an unusually cold spring.
Personally I hope it will at least stay for a few days as we have overseas friends arriving tomorrow. As the saying goes,
“you can’t beat Wellington on a good day.”
Sunshine! Guests! It’s coming! (It was a long time coming here months ago…)

Technically, it’s not even winter yet here. 😉 But it’s definitely not summer. :p And won’t be for quite awhile yet. 😦 Nevertheless, I hope summer arrives in your part of the world soon!

So pretty! If I lived there, I would be on the beach every day. Warm or cold weather.

I would be happy to send some of our summer over to wellington. It’s too hot here! Wellington is lovely on a sunny day, but I couldn’t persuade my ( qld born) husband to go in the water.

Can I finally leave a comment?

Oh, finally! I’ve been trying to comment for weeks on your blog, Mali, but WordPress wouldn’t let me–it kept insisting I log in with a WordPress account. I finally figured out I can use my Google one instead.
And Indigo, I’ve been having the same problem on Route 153, except even using my Google account won’t work over there. So, I am reading your posts (and particularly appreciated the HumpdayforHelen Calvin and Hobbes one), silently.
Back to this post. Wellington on a good day does look very unbeatable indeed.

Beautiful!! I so wish I was getting back to Wellington on this trip. Hopefully we will see some sun on the south Island and not just rain!
