“Look at my beautiful life!” is often the subtext to blogposts and is certainly a major part of social media. I’m guilty of it myself, posting photos of my travels, or more recently – since we have been grounded – summer beaches.
But I recently saw a news item on the big freeze in the northeast of the US and Canada. It was mind-boggling. So today, even though I might be overly warm, and have the garage door cracked open to the south, to bring in some cooler air, there are occasional rain showers, and I feel obliged to point out that summer in Wellington isn’t all blue skies and sunshine and warm temperatures.
This was what I saw out my bedroom window yesterday, and it’s not much better today:
Though I will admit that, a year on, I still get a thrill seeing the finished deck and new fence.
Hey, that rainy view is still pretty nice to me, stuck in winter 🙂 I love sewing beautiful life pictures. They remind me to look around at how lovely things can be if I choose to see them that way, instead of focusing on what all is wrong.

An excellent deck! And that’s life, isn’t it? Sunshine and rain.

That deck is gorgeous. We’re double digits below zero F this morning, with little hope of zero til maybe 10 am. Definitely fighting the depression thing. Haven’t blogged lately…

Rain can be pretty, even when dreary. The view from your deck is amazing.

It’s still a lovely view. And I’ll still take it over the grey sky, snow & subzero temperatures that you can experience from MY deck, lol. Apparently, with just a few days to go, we’re on track to make this the coldest February on record. :p

It’s just dreary “why isn’t winter over” blues here in STL. Which would look a lot like that dreary sky–except I know it’s warm there. Sigh.

Summer sounds like such a treat right now! I’ll take it, rain and all.

I love “isn’t my life beautiful” pictures because so much of the internet is filled with ugly. I’m in the midst of the deep freeze here in Pittsburgh and seeing your photo was like a mini (mini-mini) vacation.

We’re once again getting snow here in Maryland. Rain later though, then temps in the upper 50s later in the week. While I am tired of the cold, I refuse to wish days to go quickly anymore I want each day to last as long as possible.
