Other than the week after my mother died, I haven’t missed a Microblog Monday post. Some Mondays I have several contenders that I either have to choose between, or store up – perhaps for the following week, or for a week when I’m travelling and need to schedule a piece in advance. Other Mondays I feel as if I’m striking a blank, but only until I actually sit down and write something, and then the words flow. Other Mondays, I fall back on the Posts I won’t be writing series, or write a post about What Charlie Taught Me.
This week, though, I’ve lost my MM mojo completely. Yet I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I need to stop feeling pressured (self-imposed of course) to find an eight-sentence post every week, and post more naturally when the inspiration hits.
Still, you’ll notice that I couldn’t quite shake the call for an eight-sentence Microblog Monday post today.
Funny how the self imposed things still nag at us, I feel guilty that I haven’t written my second blog yet!

It happens. I myself have been struggling with the motivation to write – self-imposed restrictions become quite taxing on my mental faculties eventually.
I’ve found that I like to use Microblog Mondays as vent posts, and as week and month set-up posts. This week I just vented about my current situation and the post reached 800 words (I felt the need to include a tl;dr version).
Perhaps such a format might occasionally be useful to you, when you have days like this where you can’t commit to your other series.

Obviously, you don’t have to tell me about motivation. I am so impressed that you wrote this post! xxoo

Plus, how often do you get to post something on February 29? (I do know the answer to this question.)

Yes, I go through this, too.

I can very much relate to the self-imposed pressure! One of the things I had to tell myself was that if I didn’t have something that day, well, Monday will come again next week. Still rather impressed that you managed to get a post up :)!

I bow in awe to the substance you came up with anyway. When I lose my mojo, all I have is tripe. Or is it trope?

Ha! I see what you did there …

But you did it, yay! I really don’t like Mondays but having MM to read helps.

I wish I felt more self-imposed pressure, which might counter my lack of self-discipline..

For someone lacking MM mojo, you certainly put together an awesomely alliterative article title and excellent eight-sentenced entry . 🙂
